James' Estate Caravan Park
Wrexham
Family-run caravan and touring park on the historic Wynnstay Estate, eight miles from Llangollen
About James' Estate Caravan Park
James' Estate Caravan Park occupies part of the historic grounds of the Wynnstay Estate at Ruabon, around eight miles from Llangollen and close to Ruabon railway station, making it a useful option for visitors arriving by train as well as by car. The park has been run by the Roberts family since 2020 under a straightforward, welcoming approach, and the wooded, parkland setting of the old estate gives the site a more established, mature feel than many newer touring parks.
The park offers camping and touring pitches for caravans and motorhomes alongside residential and holiday-home stays, set within the estate's grounds a short drive from Ruabon village and within easy reach of both Llangollen and Wrexham. Its position on the edge of the Dee Valley makes it a workable base for exploring the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Trevor, both closer to the site than Llangollen town centre itself, as well as for day trips into Wrexham for shopping and further transport connections.
As a family-run operation on historic parkland rather than a purpose-built holiday park, James' Estate suits visitors who want a quieter, more grounded touring base within striking distance of the Dee Valley's main attractions, with the Wynnstay Estate's mature trees and open parkland giving the site a genuinely different character to the hillside sites closer to Llangollen itself.
