B+B Belgravia is at 64-66 Ebury Street, in a Grade II listed Georgian terrace between Victoria station and Sloane Square. It is a bed and breakfast in the proper sense - breakfast is cooked and included with the rooms, there is a lounge rather than a bar, and the scale is domestic - but the standard is closer to a small hotel than to a guest house.

Accommodation is split between bed and breakfast rooms in the main houses and separate studios and serviced apartments nearby, which have kitchenettes and suit longer stays or families. Breakfast is included with the rooms but not the studios, which is worth checking at the point of booking. Rooms are plain and light rather than heavily decorated, and sizes vary as they always do in a converted period terrace.

The practical extras are unusually good for the price: free Wi-Fi throughout, a laptop and printer available to guests, complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mineral water available all day, a staffed reception with concierge service, and pet-friendly rooms for anyone travelling with a dog.

Ebury Street is a genuinely pleasant address - Mozart lived on it, and it runs through the quieter end of Belgravia towards Pimlico. Victoria station is five minutes away on foot for the Gatwick Express and the District, Circle and Victoria lines; Buckingham Palace, the Royal Mews, Tate Britain and Sloane Square are all a walk rather than a journey. For anyone who wants a central London base at a fair rate without staying in a chain, it is a sound choice.
