Wood Farm Caravan and Camping Park
Dorset
Spacious family park near Charmouth, half a mile from the beach
About Wood Farm Caravan and Camping Park
Wood Farm lies just outside Charmouth on the Axminster road, around three miles from Lyme Regis, and offers a considerably larger range of facilities than the smaller touring sites nearer the town. Set in open Dorset countryside with views towards the coast, the park has generous grass pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, plus static caravan holiday homes and camping pods for those wanting a roof without full self-catering.
The park's facilities suit families staying for a week or more: a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna, an on-site cafe and shop, a games room, and two dedicated dog-walking meadows away from the main pitches. Electric hook-up is available across the touring area, and modern shower and toilet blocks are dotted around the site. Charmouth beach, another well-known fossil-hunting spot on the Jurassic Coast, is around a 20-minute walk, and Lyme Regis itself is a short drive or a longer coastal walk further on.
Because of its size and range of facilities, Wood Farm tends to suit families wanting things to do on site during a longer stay, rather than campers looking purely for a quiet rural pitch. It gets busy during the school summer holidays, when its pool and play facilities are in heavy use, so booking well ahead for July and August is advisable. Out of peak season, it offers a quieter, more spacious alternative to camping directly in Lyme Regis.
