Open moorland pitches above Lynton with sea and country views
About Lynton Camping and Caravanning Club Site
This Camping and Caravanning Club site sits just outside Lynton on high ground, with panoramic views across open Devon countryside and, from a number of pitches, out to sea. It is a larger site than most in the immediate area, with over a hundred pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, and the exposed, elevated setting gives it a distinctly different character from the wooded valley sites closer to the harbour.
Facilities run to the standard expected of a club site: heated shower and toilet blocks, washing-up and laundry facilities, a motorhome service point, wifi across the site, and a children's play area, all kept to a consistent standard year to year. Non-members can usually book alongside Club members, generally at a modest premium, and the site operates from spring to late September.
The open aspect that gives the site its views also leaves it more exposed to Exmoor's weather than valley pitches, so a well-pegged tent matters here more than at sheltered sites nearer the river. In return, guests get some of the best sunrise and sunset views available from any campsite in the area, along with easy walking access into Lynton itself and onward to the Valley of the Rocks.
