Didsbury House is a Victorian villa on Didsbury Park, converted into a small hotel and run alongside its sister property Eleven Didsbury Park a short walk away. The building keeps its original proportions — stained glass on the staircase, high ceilings, deep bay windows — and the conversion has added contemporary bathrooms and lighting without stripping the character out of it.

There are 27 bedrooms across six categories, from compact Snug Rooms up to Luxe Junior Suites, the Boudoir Suite and the Opus Loft Suite under the roof. Each is designed individually, so it is worth looking at the room types rather than booking blind; the loft suites in particular have unusual shapes and considerably more space. Free parking for residents is included, which is a real advantage over anything in the centre, and there are electric vehicle chargers nearby.

Public spaces include a residents-only bar, several lounges, a breakfast room, a board room and The Den, plus a Victorian walled terrace that comes into its own in summer. Breakfast is cooked to order. The setting is the reason to choose it: Didsbury Village is a five-minute walk with its pubs, delis and restaurants, Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens and the Mersey water park are close by, and both the city centre and Manchester Airport are around fifteen minutes' drive. The Metrolink tram from East Didsbury runs into St Peter's Square if you would rather not drive.
