Eleven Didsbury Park is the smaller and quieter of the two Victorian townhouses run on this street, with 20 bedrooms rather than the 27 next door, and a correspondingly more domestic feel. It was one of the first properties in Manchester to do the townhouse-hotel format properly, and successive refurbishments have kept it current without turning it into something generic.

Rooms run from Snug and Cosy at the compact end through Comfy to the Luxe Terrace Junior Suite and the Veranda Suite, which has its own outdoor space over the garden. Furnishings are individual to each room, beds are good, and the bathrooms have been renewed. The building is residential in scale, so the top-floor rooms sit under the eaves and the layout involves stairs; ask if that matters.

Downstairs there is a residents' lounge, a conservatory and garden lounge, and a small reception bar, and behind the house a Victorian walled garden that is used for drinks in warm weather and for weddings and events at other times. Breakfast is served properly rather than buffet-style, and afternoon tea is available. Parking is free for residents. Didsbury Village and its restaurants are a five-minute stroll, the city centre and Manchester Airport are both roughly fifteen minutes by car, and the tram from Didsbury Village runs into town in about half an hour.
