Littleton Farm Campsite

West Sussex

Tents-only camping directly on the South Downs Way, 6 miles south of Midhurst

About Littleton Farm Campsite

Littleton Farm Campsite sits on the South Downs Way near Upwaltham, about six miles south of Midhurst, and keeps things deliberately simple. There is no vehicular access to pitches and no electric hookup, just a grass field for tents, a converted dairy building with hot showers, and porta-loos, which keeps the site quiet and suits walkers and cyclists more than caravanners.

The no-car policy on the pitches themselves means more open space for games, and the site allows campfires, with logs sold on site for anyone who wants to cook over an open flame or simply sit out in the evening. A small on-site café, Cadence, serves coffee and food to campers and passing walkers on the Way, and there is a washing-up station with drinking water near the showers.

It is a popular stopover for people walking or cycling sections of the South Downs Way, and for quieter accommodation during Goodwood race meetings and events nearby. Because of the limited parking and tents-only policy, it is not the right choice for anyone touring by caravan or motorhome, but for a straightforward, back-to-nature night or two on the Downs it is hard to beat for location.
