Burrowhayes Farm Caravan and Camping Site
Somerset
Long-standing farm site by Horner Wood, six miles from Minehead
About Burrowhayes Farm Caravan and Camping Site
Burrowhayes Farm Caravan and Camping Site sits at West Luccombe near Porlock, around six miles west of Minehead, on the fringe of Exmoor National Park and right beside the National Trust woodland of Horner Wood. It is a well-established site that has welcomed campers, touring caravans and motorhomes for decades, set within a working farm and surrounded by some of Exmoor's most attractive walking and riding country.
The site offers grass touring pitches with electric hook-up available, along with toilet and shower facilities and a small shop for essentials. Its location makes it particularly popular with walkers and horse riders, with direct access to bridleways into Horner Wood and onto the open moor, and an on-site riding stable offering pony trekking for visitors who want to explore Exmoor on horseback rather than on foot.
Dogs are welcome at the site, in keeping with its appeal to walkers making use of the surrounding trails. Porlock village, with its shops, pubs and thatched cottages, is a short drive away, while Minehead's beach and West Somerset Railway terminus are within easy reach for a day trip, making Burrowhayes a good rural alternative to staying in Minehead itself.
