About Bracelands Campsite
Bracelands is one of the largest campsites in the Forest of Dean, set among mature oak and beech woodland close to the village of Christchurch, around four miles east of Monmouth over the Welsh border. The site spreads across open glades within the forest, with well over 250 pitches split between non-electric grass pitches and a smaller number with electric hookup, giving it a scale that few sites in the immediate Wye Valley can match.
The setting is the main draw: pitches back onto forest trails that connect directly to the wider Forest of Dean cycling and walking network, and the River Wye and Symonds Yat Rock are both within easy reach for canoeing, gorge walks and one of the best river viewpoints in the valley. Facilities are straightforward and well maintained, with modern shower and toilet blocks, dishwashing areas and a small site shop for essentials, plus a handful of camping pods for those without their own tent.
Bracelands works well for families and larger groups thanks to its size and open layout, and dogs are welcome across most of the site. It gets busy through the summer holidays given its size and popularity with cyclists and canoeists, so early booking is recommended for peak weeks, though the sheer number of pitches means it rarely feels as packed as smaller sites nearby.
