Kilmorey Arms Hotel
Greencastle Street, Kilkeel · Hotel
A family-run hotel dating from 1843 in the fishing town of Kilkeel, on the southern coast road beneath the Mournes.
About Kilmorey Arms Hotel
The Kilmorey Arms has traded in Kilkeel since 1843 and has been refurbished under new ownership in recent years while keeping its identity as a proper town-centre hotel rather than a chain property. Kilkeel remains one of Northern Ireland's busiest fishing ports, and the hotel's restaurant makes a point of using seafood landed at the harbour a short walk away.
Its position on the southern coast road puts it closest of any hotel in this guide to Silent Valley Mountain Park and the southern stretches of the Mourne Wall, useful for visitors focused on the quieter side of the range away from Newcastle.
The hotel has 24 guest rooms plus three suites, a bar popular with locals, and a conference suite that hosts weddings and community events, giving it a genuinely local character alongside its role as a visitor base.
