Isle of Eriska occupies its own small tidal island off the Benderloch coast, connected to the mainland by a private bridge and surrounded by 300 acres of woods, shoreline and a nine-hole golf course. The Victorian baronial mansion at its centre has been extended with contemporary garden rooms and spa suites, but retains the feel of a private house rather than a conventional hotel.

Guests can choose from the Deck Restaurant, with its more relaxed all-day menu and views over the water, or the fine dining Main House Restaurant, both built around West Coast seafood, game and produce from the hotel's own gardens. The ESPA spa, indoor pool and treatment rooms sit alongside outdoor activities including wildlife boat trips, clay pigeon shooting, falconry and even beekeeping, making this as much an activity retreat as a place to switch off.

Its position roughly nine miles north of Oban gives easy access to the town's ferries and distillery while keeping the hotel itself entirely private, with no through traffic and views out towards Loch Linnhe and the hills of Morvern. It suits couples marking an occasion and families wanting genuine space, rather than those looking to be in the thick of Oban's harbour life.
