Kilchrenan House occupies a Victorian building on Corran Esplanade, one of a run of grand seafront houses built to take advantage of the views across Oban Bay. Under recent new ownership, its 16 bedrooms have been refreshed while keeping original period character, with room types ranging from doubles to four-poster emperor beds, many named after nearby islands such as Mull and Lismore.

Rooms come with en suite bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, television and a stocked mini fridge, and flexible self check-in suits guests arriving on a late ferry or train. Many rooms have full or partial sea views over the bay towards Kerrera, and the house's position gives a genuine sense of Oban's Victorian seafront heyday.

The Esplanade location is a short, flat walk from Oban's town centre, harbour and railway station, making this a practical choice for visitors relying on ferries or trains rather than a car, while still offering the calmer end of the seafront away from the busiest quaysides.
