About Knipoch House Hotel
Knipoch House Hotel occupies a whitewashed country house on the shores of Loch Feochan, around six miles south of Oban, with grounds running down towards the water and the hills of Argyll rising behind. The building has been carefully restored to keep its stone walls, open fires and wood-panelled rooms while adding modern comforts throughout its 26 bedrooms.
Many rooms overlook the loch, and the hotel's outdoor hot tub takes in the same view over the water. Since joining the Sonas Collection, the hotel has launched its 1635 restaurant, offering a seven-course tasting menu built around Argyll produce and local seafood, alongside a more relaxed bar and lounge.
The rural setting suits guests who want a quieter, more spacious base than the town centre, with Oban itself a short drive away for the harbour, ferry terminal and distillery. Loch Feochan and the surrounding hills offer walking straight from the door.
