No.26 By The Sea sits directly on Oban's esplanade, its nine individually decorated rooms making the most of views across Oban Bay towards Kerrera and, on a clear day, Mull. Contemporary art and rustic furnishings run through the building, giving it a distinct boutique character rather than a formulaic hotel feel.

A sitting room with sea views, an open fire and a well-stocked honesty bar of local drinks gives guests somewhere to settle in the evening, and breakfast is served with the same view out over the water. Dogs are genuinely welcomed, with beds and treats provided for four-legged guests.

Its esplanade position puts the harbour, distillery and station within a level ten to fifteen minute walk, while the setting itself, right on the seafront away from the busiest streets, gives a quieter base than the town centre without losing any convenience.
