Sheltered hillside camping in Gulval with views over Mount's Bay

About Noongallas

Noongallas is a small, family-run campsite in the village of Gulval, on the rural fringe of Penzance, set on terraced hillside pitches with views stretching across the moorland and down to Mount's Bay. It has a deliberately low-key, back-to-basics feel: no electric hookups, no shop and no entertainment, just a warm welcome and a genuinely rural setting only a short drive from the town centre.

Pitches are arranged on sheltered terraces down the hillside and are best suited to tents and small camper vans rather than caravans or larger motorhomes. Facilities are simple but well kept, with toilets and complimentary hot showers, a washing-up area, and firewood available to buy for campfires in the evening. Dogs are welcome for a small additional charge. Payment is taken in cash on arrival, and advance booking is strongly recommended, particularly for July and August, with late arrivals after 8pm needing to call ahead.

The site suits campers who want genuine countryside quiet within easy striking distance of Penzance's shops, restaurants and harbour, as well as walkers using the area as a base for the coast path and the wider Land's End peninsula. Its position in Gulval also puts it within easy reach of Chysauster Ancient Village and the granite moorland inland from the bay, making it a good choice for visitors keen to see a quieter side of West Cornwall alongside the coast.
