The Queens Hotel

The Promenade, seafront · Hotel

A grand Victorian seafront hotel on Penzance promenade, family-run since 1862, with sea-view rooms across Mount's Bay.

About The Queens Hotel

The Queens Hotel has stood on Penzance's promenade since 1862 and has been run by the same family for generations, giving it a lived-in, old-school character that sets it apart from more corporate seafront hotels elsewhere in Cornwall. Public rooms are hung with paintings and retain a good deal of period detail, from ornate ceilings to a grand staircase.

Many of the bedrooms face directly out over Mount's Bay towards Newlyn and St Michael's Mount, and the hotel's restaurant shares the same outlook, making it a popular spot for a sea-view dinner even among non-residents. There is free parking on site, a genuine advantage in a town where street parking is limited in summer.

Its promenade position puts Jubilee Pool a few minutes' walk away in one direction and the harbour and station in the other, making it a well-placed, traditional base for exploring Penzance on foot.
