Atholl Palace Hotel occupies a large Victorian building that opened as a hydropathic spa in the 1870s, set in extensive wooded grounds on the hill above Pitlochry. Its turrets and terraces have been a landmark on the town's skyline for well over a century, and many of its public rooms and bedrooms retain the scale and detail of the original building.

Bedrooms range from traditional rooms in the main house to more contemporary options in adjoining wings, and the hotel's grounds include mature woodland walks and lawns with views down over the Tummel valley. A restaurant and bar serve residents and visitors, drawing on Perthshire produce alongside a broad whisky selection.

The hotel sits a short walk from Pitlochry's main street, close enough for guests to walk down into town for the theatre, distilleries and shops, while still enjoying the quieter, elevated setting of its own estate.
