Churchwood Valley runs through seventy-five acres of woodland and fields down to the sea at Wembury Bay, on the coast south-east of Plymouth, and offers a genuinely different style of stay to the touring parks nearer the city. Rather than pitches for tents or caravans, the park consists of well-spaced timber cabins set on their own plots across the hillside, each surrounded by trees and shrubs, with some enjoying glimpses of the sea or the valley's water meadow below.
On-site facilities include a small shop and launderette, and private paths lead down to Wembury beach, a National Trust stretch of rock pools and shingle around a ten-minute walk from the furthest cabins, with sandy patches uncovered at low tide.
