Riverside Caravan Park sits in the Plym Valley at Marsh Mills, on the eastern edge of Plymouth, bordered by the River Plym and ancient woodland yet only a few hundred yards from the A38 and around three miles from the city centre. That combination of a genuinely green, riverside setting with quick access to Plymouth itself makes it one of the more convenient options for anyone wanting to explore the Hoe and Barbican without staying in the city, while also being close enough to Dartmoor and the South Hams for day trips further afield.
The park is open all year and takes tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, with a mix of level, well-drained pitches and a good number offering electric hook-ups. There is no static accommodation or glamping on site, which keeps the atmosphere firmly geared towards visitors travelling with their own tent or van rather than a holiday-park crowd. A children's play area with swings and slides is provided, and dogs are welcome on leads, though some breed restrictions apply.
The riverside and woodland setting brings a good amount of wildlife past the pitches, and the park has built a long-standing reputation among regular touring visitors, holding AA four-star accreditation alongside membership of the Caravan Club, the Camping and Caravanning Club and Alan Rogers' recommended sites. Its position just off the A38 makes it an easy stop for anyone heading further into Cornwall as well as a practical base for Plymouth itself, and special rates are available for longer stays outside peak season.
