Boringdon Hall occupies a Grade I listed Tudor manor house in Plympton, on Plymouth's eastern edge, with parts of the building dating back over 700 years and a history that includes visits from Sir Francis Drake, whose family once owned the estate. The hall sits within its own grounds on the edge of Dartmoor, giving it a rural, country-house setting despite being only around ten minutes' drive from the centre of Plymouth.

The 55 bedrooms and suites are split between the original manor house and a newer wellness wing, ranging from cosy stable rooms to grander four-poster rooms in the historic building and contemporary wellness rooms and suites in the newer addition. Gaia Spa, set within the grounds, offers an extensive range of treatments, an indoor pool, sauna and steam facilities, with all guests given access and a discount on treatments.

Dining is a particular strength: the hotel runs the two AA-rosette Mayflower Brasserie for more relaxed meals alongside Àclèaf, a four AA-rosette, Michelin-starred restaurant built around modern British cooking and produce grown in the hotel's own kitchen garden. The grounds themselves include gardens, woodland and a kitchen garden that supplies both restaurants.
