Wareham Forest Tourist Park

Dorset

A 55-acre woodland park near Wareham with a heated pool, around nine miles from Poole

About Wareham Forest Tourist Park

Wareham Forest Tourist Park occupies a 55-acre site at North Trigon, surrounded by the wider expanse of Wareham Forest, around nine miles from Poole and close to Wareham, Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills. The scale of the surrounding forest gives it a genuinely wooded, peaceful feel that is hard to find closer to the coast, while still keeping Poole's beaches and harbour within a manageable drive of twenty minutes or so.

The park offers a mix of superior hardstanding pitches with individual water, waste and TV connections, standard hardstanding and grass touring pitches with electric hook-up, and more informal camping areas including woodland pitches for those who prefer a bit of tree cover over an open field. A heated outdoor swimming pool with a paddling pool for younger children is a popular draw in summer, alongside a family room with table tennis, a children's playground on grass, and a licensed on-site shop, with a pub and restaurant within a mile of the park for evenings out.

Two modern toilet and shower blocks, including disabled facilities, free WiFi and laundry facilities round out the practical side of a stay, and EV charging is also available for those touring by electric vehicle. The combination of woodland setting, solid facilities and proximity to both the coast and the walking country of the Purbecks makes it a good base for a longer family camping holiday rather than just an overnight stop, and its five-star rating reflects a consistently well-maintained site.
