Fishery Creek Caravan and Camping Park

Hampshire

Family-run creekside touring park on Hayling Island, eight miles from Portsmouth

About Fishery Creek Caravan and Camping Park

Fishery Creek is a small, family-run touring park on Hayling Island, tucked beside a tidal creek a short walk from the island's sandy beaches and around eight miles from Portsmouth across the harbour. Its size keeps things quiet compared with the island's larger holiday parks, with grass pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes set among mature trees and hedging that give a good deal of shelter and privacy.

The creekside setting brings birdlife and gentle water views rather than dramatic scenery, and it suits families and couples looking for a low-key coastal base rather than an entertainment-led holiday park. Hayling Island's beaches, well known among windsurfers and kitesurfers for the Solent breezes, are within easy cycling distance, as are the island's shops, pubs and the seasonal funfair at the seafront.

Being set slightly back from the open coast, the park is more sheltered than seafront sites, which suits campers who want a calmer base without losing quick access to the beach, watersports centres and Hayling's seafood pubs. It works well as a base for exploring both the island and Portsmouth itself, with the passenger ferry and road bridge both offering routes back across the harbour into the city.
