Family-run holiday park three miles from Sidmouth with lodges, pods and touring pitches
About Oakdown Holiday Park
Oakdown Holiday Park is a well-established, family-run park set in open countryside around three miles from Sidmouth, close to the village of Weston and the Donkey Sanctuary. It offers a wide range of accommodation, from touring and camping pitches across 97 landscaped plots to fixed leisure lodges and a glamping area known as The Shire, which includes barrel pods, premier pods and shepherd's huts, giving it more variety than most sites in the area.
Facilities are geared strongly towards families and dog owners. There are two children's play parks, a nine-hole golf course with its own café, and a genuinely dog-friendly ethos that includes a gated dog-walking lane and a dog spa for washing off muddy paws after a walk. Touring pitches range from non-serviced grass plots to fully serviced hardstanding with electric hook-up, and the site has good toilet and shower blocks throughout.
A field trail leads directly from the park to the Donkey Sanctuary, one of the most popular family attractions in the area, and Sidmouth's beach and town centre are a short drive away, with dog-friendly stretches of coast nearby too. The combination of space, variety of accommodation and family-focused extras makes Oakdown a good base for a longer stay rather than a single overnight stop.
