About Heathside Holidays
Heathside Holidays sits on Blackheath Road just outside Wenhaston, surrounded by common land and heath around four miles inland from the Suffolk coast, midway between Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich and the Minsmere nature reserve. The site combines traditional camping and touring caravan and motorhome pitches with a range of upgraded options, including timber lodges, glamping pods and a small collection of shepherd's huts, so it works equally well for a basic tent pitch or a more comfortable short break.
On-site facilities run to a shower block with laundry facilities, electric hook-up on touring pitches, and electric vehicle charging points, along with a shop and off-licence stocking produce from local butchers alongside cider, juice and homemade pies and pasties, useful for evenings when nobody fancies the drive back out for supplies. A children's play area and network of nature trails through the surrounding common make it a comfortable choice for families, and the site has picked up recognition in the regional Hoseasons awards for its smaller lodge accommodation.
The surrounding heathland is good walking and cycling country in its own right, with the village pub within easy reach on foot, and the coast, Southwold's beach and pier, and the RSPB reserve at Minsmere all a short drive away. The mix of pitch types and accommodation levels, along with year-round opening, makes Heathside a flexible base for visitors who want easy access to the Suffolk Heritage Coast without being right on top of it.
