The Swan Hotel

Market Place, town centre · Hotel

Adnams' flagship coaching inn on the Market Place, pairing Georgian and Victorian rooms with the brewery's own beer, spirits and seafood dining.

About The Swan Hotel

The Swan has occupied the same spot on Southwold's Market Place since the 14th century, rebuilt in its present Georgian form after the great fire of 1659 and run today by the town's own Adnams brewery. It sits at the very centre of Southwold life, a few steps from the High Street's shops and a short stroll from the pier and the beach.

Bedrooms are spread across the main building, a garden annexe and a scatter of nearby cottages, each individually decorated rather than following a uniform hotel template, with several suites and family rooms among the standard doubles. The hotel's Still Room restaurant and Tap Room bar both draw on Adnams' own beers and the Copper House Distillery's gin and vodka, alongside a seasonal, seafood-led menu.

Guests staying here also get first refusal on the brewery's own tours, tastings and lighthouse visits, tying a stay at the Swan closely to the wider Adnams experience that runs through the whole town. Its central position means everything in Southwold is within walking distance, though parking in the surrounding streets can be tight on busy summer weekends.
