About Muckrach Country House Hotel
Muckrach Country House Hotel occupies a turreted Victorian shooting lodge a few miles from Grantown-on-Spey, restored to a contemporary country house standard while keeping its original stonework, staircases and log fires. The grounds run down towards the River Dulnain, a tributary of the Spey, giving guests private walking straight from the door.
Rooms are split between the main house and a converted steading, with the steading rooms generally larger and more contemporary in style. The hotel's restaurant focuses on Scottish produce, including venison and game from neighbouring estates, and there is a well-stocked whisky bar for evenings by the fire.
Its position close to Grantown-on-Spey and within easy reach of Aviemore makes it a practical base for combining whisky trail visits with walking, cycling or wildlife watching in the Cairngorms.
