Lee Valley Caravan Park, Dobbs Weir

Hertfordshire

Riverside touring park in the Lee Valley, around thirteen miles from St Albans

About Lee Valley Caravan Park, Dobbs Weir

Lee Valley Caravan Park sits on a bend of the River Lee at Dobbs Weir, near Hoddesdon, roughly thirteen miles east of St Albans and about half an hour by car. Run by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, it is a well-established touring site taking tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans, with a mix of electric hardstanding and grass pitches to suit most set-ups.

The riverside position is the main appeal, with fishing available directly from the site, towpath walks and cycle routes running along the Lee Valley in both directions, and a pub and marina within easy walking distance at Dobbs Weir itself. On-site facilities include modern shower and toilet blocks, a shop for essentials, a playground for younger visitors, and bike hire for exploring further afield along the valley. Dogs are welcome across the site.

As part of the wider Lee Valley Regional Park, the site gives easy access to other attractions along the river, including Lee Valley White Water Centre and the various country parks that line the valley towards the Essex border, while remaining within reach of St Albans, Hertford and Hatfield House for day trips inland. It suits families and couples touring the Lee Valley and Hertfordshire more broadly, rather than visitors wanting to be within a short drive of St Albans alone.
