Island Meadow Caravan Park

Warwickshire

Riverside seven-acre park at Aston Cantlow, six miles from Stratford-upon-Avon

About Island Meadow Caravan Park

Island Meadow Caravan Park lies at Aston Cantlow, about six miles north-west of Stratford-upon-Avon, on a seven-acre site bounded by the River Alne and a mill stream. The setting is genuinely rural and unusually green for a Warwickshire touring park, with mature trees, plenty of birdlife and fishing available on the water. It is a small, privately owned, family-run operation, and the atmosphere is correspondingly low-key.

The park takes touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents, and also has camping pods and holiday caravans for anyone who would rather not bring their own kit. Pitches are grass and generally spacious, with electric hook-up available. The amenity block is heated and includes showers and disabled facilities, and there is a licensed shop on site. There is no swimming pool or dedicated playground, but the flat lanes around the village make it a good spot for children on bikes, which returning guests often mention.

Rates in recent seasons have started at roughly £20 a night for a small two-berth tent, rising to about £26 to £30 for larger tents and around £35 to £40 for a caravan or motorhome pitch, with a discount for stays of five nights or more and cheaper low-season periods in March to mid-April and September to October. The park operates seasonally, opening in March and closing at the end of October. Aston Cantlow itself is worth the short walk: the King's Head is a well-regarded village pub, and the parish church is where Shakespeare's parents are traditionally said to have married. Stratford is fifteen minutes by car, and Henley-in-Arden and Alcester are closer still.
