What visitors say
Staying in Beccles for a weekend with friends and we decided to visit this gastropub for dinner because it’s only 10 minutes from our Airbnb, and I’m so glad that we did!! The food was absolutely incredible, we all enjoyed our meals. I had the seabass special and it was genuinely the best fish I’ve ever had in my life, all the trimmings on the plate complimented the seabass perfectly. The flavours and textured paired very well together. I would make the journey back to Beccles just for that meal. 10/10. Service was great, it’s nice and clean inside, plenty of seating, and lovely homely decor. Would recommend this pub for anyone in the area.

My first time here, the food was amazing, the starters are very big so be careful, the mains was great, I had the haddock and loved the mushy peas !!! My husband had the steak burger and was full off flavour, I will be returning with company… the chef was very fast and loved the garlic butter was the perfect ratio, the staff was so friendly and organised…. I can’t believe we live so close and it’s only are first time x

After reading good reviews we thought we would try a meal here. Lovely cosy country pub, has a very small car park so be prepared to park on the road. Staff were friendly and helpful and service was excellent. We shared a small starter of pork bites, very tasty. I had a chicken and leek pie which was delicious but just needed some green veg for colour. My husband had Venison Ragu, no complaints on size of meal but unfortunately it lacked in flavours. Menu is quite limited, so check before you go might be a good idea.

The perfect pub - cosy fire in the winter, attentive (but not cloying) service, absolutely excellent food, relaxed vibe, all in a well decorated pub that is totally unpretentious. Compared to some other pubs in the area charging similar or more for their food, I feel this place is very good value for money. And super dog friendly. We feel lucky to have this as our local.
