Penally Abbey is a country house hotel set in several acres of grounds in the village of Penally, just outside Tenby, on a site with monastic origins going back centuries. The main building retains a Gothic character, with high ceilings, open fires and gardens that look out towards Caldey Island and the coast.

Rooms are individually decorated rather than uniform, in keeping with the building's age and history, and the restaurant makes use of Pembrokeshire produce for a menu that changes with the seasons. The setting is noticeably quieter than central Tenby, with grounds to walk and no passing traffic.

Penally has its own beach and a stop on the same railway line as Tenby, and the town itself is a short drive or a flat coastal walk away, making the Abbey a good choice for visitors who want a quieter base within easy reach of Tenby's harbour and Old Town.
