Collina House has been run for years by the same family on East Hill, a short walk from Tenterden's high street, and has built its reputation on straightforward, well-kept rooms and genuinely home-cooked food. All fifteen bedrooms are ensuite, with televisions and tea and coffee making facilities, and the house itself has the settled, slightly old-fashioned character of a long-running family business rather than a chain hotel.

The kitchen, run by Swiss-trained owners, offers both a la carte and table d'hote menus built around home-grown and local produce, and a bar and terrace give guests somewhere to relax with an aperitif before dinner. It is the kind of B&B that draws repeat visitors precisely because it does not try to be something it is not.

East Cross's shops and Tenterden's high street attractions are all within easy walking distance, making Collina House a practical, good-value base for exploring the town without a car.
