Award-winning eco-conscious campsite at Burnham Deepdale, six miles west of Wells
About Deepdale Camping & Rooms
Deepdale Camping & Rooms sits in Burnham Deepdale on the North Norfolk coast, around six miles west of Wells-next-the-Sea, and has built a strong reputation as one of the region's best-run small campsites. It welcomes tents, campervans, motorhomes, trailer tents, roof tents and even hammock camping, though a local planning restriction means touring caravans are not accepted, keeping the site geared towards a more informal, lightweight style of camping.
Facilities are noticeably well thought through for a site of its size, with sixteen-amp electric hookups, serviced hardstanding pitches offering water, grey waste and TV connections, heated shower and toilet blocks, free wi-fi, laundry facilities and an on-site camp shop and visitor information centre. All of the site's electricity is generated from renewable sources, and it has been recognised nationally, winning the AA's Small Campsite of the Year award in recent seasons. Dogs are welcome, up to two per pitch at no extra charge, and bike hire is available on site.
Burnham Deepdale sits within easy reach of Brancaster, Burnham Market and the Norfolk Coast Path, with an adjoining cafe and supermarket useful for stocking up without a car journey. For visitors happy to base themselves a short drive from Wells itself, it offers a quieter, more countryside-and-coast setting alongside genuinely strong environmental credentials.
