Ladycross Plantation sits in 95 acres of mature woodland near Egton, on the edge of the North York Moors, about five miles inland from Whitby. It is a family-owned touring park with a reputation built over decades of careful management, reflected in its AA 5-star rating, AA Campsite of the Year award and David Bellamy Conservation Award. Pitches are spread through the trees rather than lined up on open grass, giving most a degree of privacy and shelter that is unusual for a park of its size.
The park caters mainly to touring caravans and motorhomes, with a choice of hardstanding and grass pitches, some fully serviced with electric hook-up, water and drainage. Seasonal pitches are available for regular visitors, and the park has begun developing luxury holiday lodges for sale, alongside plans for motorhome hire, reflecting ongoing investment in the site. The nearby village of Egton and the small market town of Grosmont, terminus of part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, are both within easy reach for those wanting a change from woodland walking, and the wider Esk Valley offers gentle riverside routes for less demanding days out.
