Soulton Hall

Near Wem, around 9 miles south of Whitchurch · Inn

An Elizabethan manor house on a 500-acre working estate, offering historic rooms, a restaurant and cottage stays.

About Soulton Hall

Soulton Hall is a red-brick Elizabethan manor house built in 1556, standing on a 500-acre estate of farmland and woodland a couple of miles east of Wem, around nine miles south of Whitchurch. Run by the Ashton family for generations, it combines period bedrooms in the main house with additional accommodation in the Carriage House and Rosalynde's Cottage on the grounds.

The hall's restaurant and bar serve meals through the day using produce from the estate where possible, and guests can explore the surrounding woodland and farmland on foot or by bicycle, with bikes available to hire on site.

Its rural setting means a car is useful, but the estate's history, architecture and quiet grounds make it a memorable alternative to a conventional hotel stay for visitors exploring the Whitchurch and Wem area.
