Cherry Tree Holiday Park is set back from the coast at Swalecliffe, between Whitstable and Herne Bay, and offers a larger range of family facilities than the smaller sites closer to Whitstable itself, including a heated swimming pool and a children's play area alongside its touring and camping pitches. The low-cliff coastline nearby gives easy beach access at Swalecliffe and Studd Hill, both quieter than the main Whitstable and Tankerton beaches.
The park's position a few miles from the centre of Whitstable makes it better suited to visitors with a car who want a self-contained base with on-site entertainment for children, rather than those wanting to walk to the harbour and high street. Herne Bay's seafront and pier are a similarly short drive in the other direction, giving two contrasting Kent seaside towns within easy reach.
