About Chertsey Camping and Caravanning Club Site
The Camping and Caravanning Club's Chertsey site sits on the bank of the Thames beside Chertsey Bridge, about nine miles from Windsor and a couple of minutes from junction 11 of the M25. It is a green, heavily treed site of around 150 pitches, laid out in bays under mature limes and horse chestnuts with the river along one edge. Parakeets are a fixture in the canopy, and fishing is permitted on the site frontage through the season.
Pitch options are unusually wide for a Club site. There is plain grass without hook-up, grass with electric, hardstanding with electric, jumbo grass pitches sized for larger outfits, and a run of hardstanding super service pitches that add mains water, waste drainage and a TV aerial point. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are all accommodated, and non-members are welcome and can join on arrival. Prices start from around fourteen pounds a night at the member rate.
Facilities are comprehensive and kept to the standard the Club is known for: flushing toilets, showers, a family shower room, a parent and baby room, accessible facilities, washing-up sinks, laundry with washing machines, a motorhome service point and gas cylinder sales. There is a shop on site, wi-fi, a recreation hall and a children's play area. Dogs are welcome and there is both a dedicated dog walk and a dog wash. The site opens all year, which makes it one of the few genuinely all-season options near Windsor. Chertsey town centre and its station are a walk away, and trains reach central London in around fifty minutes, so a good number of guests use the site as a base for the capital as well as for Windsor and Runnymede.
