About Bracelands Campsite
Bracelands is a substantial Forestry England site set among the trees near Berry Hill in the Forest of Dean, roughly a fifteen-minute drive from Tintern Abbey and the lower reaches of the Wye Valley gorge. With over 400 pitches it is considerably bigger than most of the valley's own campsites, and it stays open all year, which makes it a useful option outside the main summer season when smaller sites nearby have closed.
The site offers a broad mix of pitch types, from simple non-electric camping and caravan pitches through to serviced hardstanding and glamping pods and safari tents for those without their own kit. An on-site food service and a private-hire barbecue hut cover evening meals without a drive into town, and direct access onto the Forest of Dean's extensive walking and cycling trail network means you can be off into the woods on foot or by bike within minutes of the pitch.
Dogs stay free and are welcome throughout, and the surrounding forest, including nearby Puzzlewood, gives plenty to explore without needing the car. It is a better fit for those wanting space, all-year opening and forest walking than for anyone set on being right beside the river, since the Wye itself and the gorge villages are a short drive rather than a walk away.
