About Glewstone Court Country House
Glewstone Court is a Georgian and Regency country house set in its own grounds just outside Ross-on-Wye, with a 500-year-old cedar tree on the lawn and long views out towards the Brecon Beacons on a clear day. Inside, a spiral staircase and grand porticoed landing give a sense of occasion without tipping into stuffiness.
Ten guest bedrooms are spread through the main house, each individually decorated with an emphasis on comfort over minimalism, and the on-site restaurant has held a 2 AA Rosette award for its cooking. The house is also a popular wedding and events venue, so it is worth checking availability around weekends in peak season.
Its position just south of Ross-on-Wye makes it a relaxed, rural base for exploring Goodrich Castle, Symonds Yat and the town's own market and riverside without staying in the centre itself.
