About Loch Insch Trout Fishery Certificated Location
Loch Insch Trout Fishery Certificated Location is a fishing pond campsite in Aberdeenshire where you can cast a line without leaving the site. The setup is straightforward: you get access to the water and showers, making it a base for anglers rather than a full-service operation.
The site sits at The Fishing Hut near Culsalmond, so facilities are minimal but fit the purpose. If you fish for trout and want somewhere simple to stay close to the water, this works. Otherwise, it is not the place to come.

We had the most wonderful stay at Loch Insch Fishery & Campsite — it’s a truly special place. The lochs are absolutely stunning, set against a backdrop of rolling hills, with incredible wildlife all around. It’s so peaceful and feels like a real escape into nature. The fishing is superb, and whether you’re there to fish, take photographs, or simply enjoy a walk, it really has something for everyone. We had the pleasure of meeting the new management, Phil and Claire Meadows, and their vision for the future is genuinely inspiring. Their passion for nature, conservation, and creating something really unique shines through — especially their plans to embrace photography and the beauty of the landscape. A real highlight for me was seeing an osprey — my first ever — which was truly breathtaking and something I’ll never forget. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s somewhere that stays with you long after you leave.

Honestly one the best experiences anyone can have in Scotland. The trainers are amazing instructors and knowledgeable. The meals are awesome and the location can only be described as dreamy. Definitely coming again !!!

Myself and my wife fished Insch on Sunday on an eight hour ticket each .The wind increased as the day went on as per forecast but this never normally an issue for us. We were very impressed with the ground work , bothy , reed clearing etc but that's where the praise ends. We were unimpressed with the overall fishing experience .we do both have a decent amount of experience at numerous local lochs so had been looking forward to a return visit to a revamped loch Insch having not been there for roughly a year . My wife had a fish on but unfortunately blanked , I did net three rainbows over the eight hour period largest being roughly 2 pounds , one was possibly one pound and the third even smaller . VERY POOR. I'm not normally one for leaving reviews but I'd like to ask the current owners , who met us in the morning , how can you justify charging people £30 for an eight hour C & R ticket aswell as charging for tea/ coffee etc We won't be in any hurry to go back . Disappointed.
