Hadn't been to the Lowther Arms for a good while as wasn't keen on previous landlords but thought we'd give it another look after new landlords were installed. We weren't disappointed, excellent food and the service was friendly , attentive and efficient. Our party was made up of 13 including children and our food was served at the same time so we could all eat together . The new landlady Emma was particularly friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back to try more of the delicious menu and our party have booked the fabulous pod and campsite which is on site for a camping birthday party. 5* isn't enough for the service we received.

Great meal on Sunday lunchtime, beautifully prepared. Awful meal tonight, mushroom stroganoff was like eating hard chewy lumps in baby food, far from pleasant. The steak pie was so badly reheated that the meat was dry and the pastry so hard you would've needed a chisel to cut it sadly. Staff there are lovely though.

Recently visited the Lowther Arms whilst staying nearby with a big group of friends. Emma and the team were excellent! They accommodated us and our dietary requirements with very little notice, and the food was excellent. Enormous portions and incredibly tasty. I wish we were staying longer so we could visit more. A must go for a Friday night supper if you are staying in the area. Great food. Great beers. Great staff. 5/5!

We were only here to eat and would recommend it! Service was great, food was very good! We struggled a bit with the portion size - but that's on us for ordering large Fish and Chips. They truly deserve their name! But since it was delicious..
