About The Hideaway Wild Camping Retreat

Perched on a working farm near Cemaes Bay in northern Anglesey, The Hideaway Wild Camping Retreat is a tiny pop-up site with far-reaching views over Welsh countryside. The pre-pitched bell tent comes fully equipped, with cows, sheep and pygmy goats as furry neighbours, plus free-ranging chickens and ducks that supply fresh eggs for breakfast. On clear days you can watch sunrises and sunsets from your bed, or wander to scenic picnic spots dotted around the site.

The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path lies within walking distance, making this a paradise for walkers – though you could just as happily spend your time playing swingball or relaxing in peaceful surroundings. Dogs are welcome (on leads, mind the livestock), and the friendly owners are on hand with tips on Anglesey's hidden gems beyond the usual tourist trail.

Basic facilities include a composting toilet, shower and washing-up area, though some guests note there's no hot water. Cemaes Bay's small shop is five minutes' drive, with fuller amenities in Amlwch ten minutes away.

Had a fantastic 2 night stay in one the the amazing safari tents that Victoria and her family offer. The tents have fantastic views over the fields with the mountains in the distance and everything is so quiet bar the occasional moo from the local cows 😊. Just remember there is no electricity which gave us the perfect excuse to switch off for a while and spend some quality time with the family ❤️

Highly recommended, we stayed here Wednesday to Friday during the Easter holidays and couldn't ask for more. Great views, great hosts and fantastic accommodation in the Castan safari tent. Loved the experience of using the wood fire aga to cook and keep us warm. The shower was surprisingly powerful and hot as well. My 4 year old loved playing and sleeping in the cabin bed. I wish we'd spent a little more time relaxing on site but we wanted to explore the island a little. We'll be back :)

Wonderfully Wild is simply wonderful. From the initial communication from booking to our arrival we knew it would be amazing. It was a special occasion and Victoria was great as I had decorations delivered to her and she did the rest. Despite the camps being full we never saw a soul and enjoyed the hot tub in complete privacy. We arrived at the end of a heatwave so experienced sitting out in sunshine and torrential rain and it’s hard to say which we preferred. The only thing is we wished we spent longer sitting but it’s such a good base to explore the delights of Anglesey it’s hard to resist. It’s completely off grid which is the selling point but we have a business needs us to check emails which wasn’t a problem as took a power bank that lasted 3 days. Thank you Victoria for such an amazing break.

Beautiful setting, peaceful and private. We loved our stay at Wonderfully Wild. We all slept so well! The glamping tents have everything you need and were very comfortable. My children loved the hot tub, fields, stream and mud kitchen. Highly recommend. Great hosts who were friendly and helpful. Thank you 🤩
