About Tre-Ysgawen Hall Country House Hotel & Spa
Tre-Ysgawen Hall sits at Capel Coch, a few miles from Llangefni and roughly in the middle of Anglesey. The house was built in 1882 as a private mansion and has been run as a country house hotel for several decades. It stands in its own grounds of lawns, mature trees and woodland walks, well back from any main road, which makes it noticeably quiet.
Bedrooms are split between the original house and a later wing. The house rooms are the larger and more traditional, with heavy furniture, garden views and in some cases four-poster beds; the wing rooms are more uniform but comfortable and often better value. All are en suite. Dining is at Noëlle's, the hotel restaurant, which works to a seasonal menu built around Welsh producers, and there is a lounge and bar for lighter meals and afternoon tea.
The spa is the reason many people book. It includes a 16-metre indoor pool, a thermal suite with a herbal sauna, a salt inhalation room using Anglesey sea salt, an experience shower, and a range of treatment rooms. Day guests use it too, so treatment slots are worth reserving when you book the room rather than on arrival. There is also a gym.
Being central, the hotel is a sensible base for seeing the whole island: Beaumaris, Moelfre, Newborough Forest and the west coast beaches are all within about half an hour, and Snowdonia is reachable in forty minutes. It suits couples looking for a spa break, older guests who want a proper country house atmosphere, and anyone using Anglesey as a touring base rather than a beach holiday.
What guests say
Beautiful building in Anglesey, only stayed for one night but was a pleasant visit, friendly/ welcoming staff on the front desks for hotel and wellness facility. The room was lovely with a large poster bed. And plenty of space with tall ceilings. Loved the decor and felt like you had took a step in time. Breakfast was yummy and sets you up for the day. Think the track road to the hotel needs to be resurfaced! And the steam room was more like a wet room with salts? Unless we weren’t working it right and couldn’t use the taps in there? Great stay, would Recommend and stay again.

Great hotel, fantastic location for exploring the island as it is right in the middle of the island. The building is lovely with really traditional rooms. The bathrooms are in need of an update and some anti mold cleaning on the tiles. The service was excellent. Free access to the pool was a massive bonus we used it each day and we loved it ! Will definitely return. There is a EV car charger but it was not working.

This is a fantastic hall and spa in Anglesey, with very helpful and friendly staff. The spa was wonderful with a great pool. Great grounds. Italian food tasty, big portions, but may be a slightly larger selection of wines? Will be going back
