Carradale Bay Caravan Park

The most pricey campsite we've ever been charging £39.50 for a motorvan which size is less than 6 meters. Prices would definitely depend on the size of your motorhome, tent, awning,and number of people. Accomodating owner to be fair. Facilities were not well maintained though. The laundry area was dirty, machines as observed were filthy too, I needed to clean the hairs and slimy dirt. £5 per wash which was too much and 50p for drying. It states on the wall 6 minutes for drying but as I sat there for an hour observing the drying time, I would say the drying varies for every 50p I put in, it could either dry a minute or two and the longest was 4minutes. Prepare your 50p's as dryer only accepts this coin. No paper towels in the laundry area, this could have been so useful to clean the machines every after use. There was no sign for shower rooms not working which was a nightmare! Toilet rolls not monitored in toilets too, another nightmare! No wifi offered. Location was scenic and relaxing. The beach was sandy and cool. You can do a lot of water activities here.

We stayed just 1 night in our camper van. The grounds are kept beautifully and we received a wonderful welcome on arrival. Fantastic pitch with sea view. What more could we ask for. The location in our opinion was the best in kintyre, we loved the forest, beach, and golf walk. Plenty to do and the drive to and from Carradale in both locations is stunning.

This was our third visit to our favourite place! The Mull of Kintye is off the beaten track, and all the lovelier because of it. When you have negotiated the famous Long and Winding Road to Carradale Bay, and you wend your way through the rhododendrons to the campsite, you have reached paradise! Colin is friendly and welcoming, and gave us the most perfect pitch facing the beach. The facilities are spotless. The scenery is spectacular, and there are many lovely walks nearby. If you walk along to the little harbour, be sure to visit the Drumfearne Guesthouse and Tearoom on the road down, and sample one of Joanna's delicious cakes! A walk in the opposite direction into Carradale village is also recommended, with a small museum which is well worth a visit. Note: avoid the goats on the headland - they can be quite fierce!! What a campsite - we can't wait to return!

We stayed one night with a tent payed £38 for a pitch with electric hookup. The pitch we received was absolutely not electric hookup we had to run the cable through a bush and were lucky the cable was long enough had we been the pitch over we just wouldn’t have had electric. The pitch right next to the hookup was empty so not quite sure why we couldn’t have been given that. Not sure how this can be sold as electric hookup. The facilities were very clean and up to date. However, when we arrived we did not feel welcomed at all and not sure if this was because we were in a tent and not paying motor home/caravan rates.
