About Brook Farm Certificated Location

Brook Farm Certificated Location sits in quiet Derbyshire countryside near Ashbourne, offering a peaceful, no-frills retreat for those who like their camping simple. With just ten grass pitches—all with optional electric hook-up—it's properly small-scale, and the owners welcome dogs and campfires, adding to the back-to-basics appeal. Facilities are basic (toilets and water, but no showers), so it suits seasoned campers more than glamping converts.

The location proves a handy springboard for walking the Peak District or nosing around Ashbourne's market town charm. It's Members Only if you want electric touring pitches, but the relaxed, rural setting and genuinely friendly welcome earn it consistently strong reviews—just don't expect luxuries beyond a decent pitch and a cracking night's sleep under canvas.

Turned up and surprised we were only one of 2 campers. Considering the bookings suggested only one pitch left on hipcamp. Settled in, to then have the host come over asking why we were there as wasn't expecting us. Showed her confirmation and payment. A tad awkward to say the least. Settled down to a quiet night then.... Rudely woken up by building work in adjacent field just before 7.30!! Diggers, lorries and loud workmen. The dust was rediculous and were unable to sit outside or cook. We decided to pack up and go and found a beautiful campsite 20 mins away. We messaged the host to explain why we left a day early and totally gobsmacked by her reply. Not her problem basically as Severn trent were doing the work. And as she wasn't expecting us failed to see why she should tell us. We paid for peace and quiet which is what the selling point was all about . As we didn't get this we felt she should have at least warned us that evening about how bad the next day would be with noise and dust. Cannot recommend the site nor the host. And shall be complaining to hipcamp also.

Lovely campsite. We chose it as it's close to Alton towers, pack up and it's a 15 minute drive. Beautiful scenery & clean toilet, what more does a camper need 🤷

We used this caravan site as a stopover for Alton Towers and thought it was great value and a very well kept campground. The owner Anne couldn’t have been more friendlier and accommodated all of our needs as well. She was so helpful and informed us of all the local places we could visit. The camp ground itself was spotless and relaxing and we all had a lovely nights sleep- would highly recommend

Peaceful, picturesque and perfect for us. Lovely owners who want campers to enjoy their stay. Lovely to watch children having fun, but respectful of other campers. Wonderful for dogs, allowed to be off leash, as long as they are under control and not disturbing anyone. The sound of the church clock and neighbouring cows a delight. We will definitely be back, highly recommended for like minded campers.
