Hotels in Bleadon

Bleadon's appeal for a short break is its position rather than its size: a quiet village base within easy reach of both the Mendip Hills and the Somerset coast. There is no large hotel in the village itself, so most visitors base themselves in nearby Weston-super-Mare, four miles north, which has the area's widest range of accommodation, from traditional seafront hotels to smaller independent guest houses and B&Bs. Weston's hotels suit anyone who wants a proper night out or a full breakfast within walking distance of the beach, while still being a short drive from Bleadon's quieter lanes and the walking country above it.

For something closer to the village, look further into the surrounding Mendip villages and along the Somerset Levels, where farmhouse B&Bs and small inns are more common than large hotels. Cheddar, around half an hour east, has a wider tourist infrastructure with more choice if you want to combine a stay with the gorge and show caves. Wherever you base yourself, Bleadon works well as a day-trip destination from a wider Somerset or North Somerset stay, particularly for walkers heading up Bleadon Hill or out onto the Levels, or those splitting a trip between the coast at Weston-super-Mare and the limestone landscape of the Mendips further inland.
