What visitors say
what a brilliant place. I like motorsport ad I do other sports but love cars and machines and engines and bikes and colour and the whole experience was great. Free parking, no queuing and exhibits were detailed, interesting and interactive. The museum was not about just cars but the the history of the area and Silverstone as an airfield, racers, engineers, development of F1 and other sports held at Silverstone. The media was great, videos, development of Silverstone and how corners got their names together with the the many beautiful and famous cars and bikes. The SIM racing was great, so good I booked a second session as I drove no valid laps first time. I was better the second. There was a cafe with some great looking food. I did not try. There was a picnic area outside with views of the karting track and the Silverstone F1 track of which there were car events on. You could wander further afield to explore there area outside including seeing the Escapade residences … if you have to ask the price you can’t afford them !!! The gift shop was well stocked with Lego and cars and clothing and hats and books and prints and pictures and for me a fridge magnet and pen 🤣 I was there from 11am to 4.45pm. I would highly recommend.

Wow, what a brilliant place! For context, I am not even a motorsport fan and booked a visit for my son who loves F1. The entire experience was great. Free parking, no queuing, kids under 15 are free at the moment (August 2026) and the exhibits and experiences were engaging, high quality, genuinely interesting and interactive, suitable for all kinds of ages. I am really not sure which part I loved best. The museum covered the history of the area, Silverstone as an airfield, racers, engineers, development of F1 and other sports held at Silverstone, the media, and so on, as well as many beautiful and famous cars and motorbikes. I genuinely thought it would be a room full of cars but it is WAY more than this. I especially loved the history of Silverstone and how the corners got their names. They had a good picnic area with views of the karting track and the Silverstone F1 track. The gift shop had some well curated items including some rather snazzy fridge magnets. There is an option of a 4D cinema but we did not visit this. My son did use the simulator which was £25. He loved it. There was a craft area running from 10am to 2pm and a little Scaletrix set also to use free of charge. Shout out to the ladies running the craft area - so kind, polite and welcoming to my youngest child who spent a good half hour there whilst her brother finished his sim race. We arrived at 10.30am and left at 3pm. Would highly recommend.

We didnt buy tickets ahead of time and stopped by on a whim as we were passing by. The museum is pretty cool with lots of history and lots to learn. Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. There is a Cafe on site and you can also walk outside to see part of the track. 4 stars only because the price of admission is rather salty for the size of the museum and also because of the limited access/view of the track.

A very interesting place for Formula 1 fans. Be prepared that at the entrance you may be asked to show the contents of your backpack or bag for security checks. The museum also includes some fascinating RAF and World War II history, which adds another layer to the experience. Everything is very well organised and easy to navigate. One of the biggest highlights is the racing simulator. It’s great fun, and you can even watch the results and lap times on a special screen afterwards. The whole place really captures the excitement and atmosphere of motorsport and racing.
