Tucked into the North Cumbrian fells fifteen minutes from Brampton, Otter Moss Accommodation occupies a former working farm arranged around a peaceful meadow that overlooks a three-island lake – complete with rowing boat for guests who fancy getting out on the water. The handful of smart glamping units suit couples, families and groups alike, each kitted out with heating, kitchen kit, bedding and towels, plus firepits (bring your own wood). On clear days the views stretch all the way to the Solway Firth and the Lake District peaks beyond.

Set at the northern tip of the Eden Valley, this tiny site makes a lovely base for walkers and wildlife-watchers, with climbing, cycling and fishing all within easy reach. If you're not self-catering, several good pubs lie within five miles, so you're never far from a hearty meal after a day in the fells.
