About Salt on the Harbour
Salt on the Harbour sits right by South Pier in Bridlington, close enough to the water to make the most of what's on the doorstep: fishing and watersports along the coast, cycling and walking routes for exploring further afield, and a golf course nearby for those who fancy a round. The harbour itself, with its pubs, bars and other eateries, is just a short stroll away, making this a practical base for a few days by the sea.
The B&B has seven rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Rooms come with drinks making facilities, and free WiFi is provided throughout. Breakfast is served each morning, and the on-site restaurant is a real draw in its own right, known for fresh seafood including fish and chips, lobster and oysters, with a number of tables looking straight out over the harbour.
Staff are friendly and attentive, and rooms are kept comfortable and spotless, though service at busier times has been known to slow down. There's also a bar, outdoor seating, kids' meals on the menu, and 24-hour reception for guests coming and going at odd hours. For a stay built around good seafood and easy access to the coast, it does the job well.

Had the most amazing stay here and I’d personally like to thank the full team, from cleaner to bar staff, waiters/waitresses, chefs and managers for giving us the best time here! We absolutely loved it. We booked a room and it was brilliant, modern clean and spacious for the two of us. We decided to stay for dinner outside the front at the takeaway, my god the fish n chips were just the best! We also stopped and had many drinks and was soo happy when I saw my friend shipyard on tap!! Double winner! Breakfast this morning was lovely and with a nice view of the harbour. The full Yorkshire was very filling and the ingredients top notch!! Staff quick to seat us, take our order and deliver our breakfast to us! All in all a fab time had, I’m done with the premier inns and so on, I’d rather support Jerome’s and smaller businesses and stay, eat, drink local. Thankyou for a lovely time SOTH! Well worth the money!

We went to Salt on the Harbour for lunch during our visit to Bridlington and had Haddock and Chips for our lunch from the Takeaway. It was expensive for what it was and like others have said the portion size was on the small side (I expect the response will be that portion sizes are reviewed regularly as has been the case for other reviews - I wonder when they will be increased as per the feedback?). It was tasty and freshly cooked, and despite it being busy the wait wasn’t too long. Having to buy drinks from the restaurant because none are available from the takeaway seems a little strange, and was inconvenient. The curry sauce was sweet and fruity - I prefer the more traditional chip shop curry sauce, but that’s my preference.

So we only got a chance to go to the chip shop as the restaurant was packed and looked lovely. The woman I believe she may have been a manager of the restaurant lovely woman very helpful honest and professional! And the man who served me was also very professional and informative. The chips from the chip shop were not very nice at all tasted like old potatoes and hardly got any ! However the fish couldn't fault perfect batter lovely fish and absolutely no soggy bits!

We had a three night stay and it was perfect. The room was well decorated, very clean and bright. Bathroom spacious with lovely bath. The restaurant overlooking the harbour was cool and well laid out, with tables not too close together. The breakfast was the best ever, although the evening menu only had one vegetarian option and that was not available when I first ordered, then it was!! I would definitely recommend this as a lovely place to stay.
