About Immervoulin Caravan and Camping Park
Immervoulin Caravan and Camping Park is a small, family-run site on the banks of the River Balvaig, just outside the village of Strathyre and around six miles north of Callander on the road toward Lochearnhead. The site is considerably simpler and quieter than the larger holiday parks closer to Callander, and its position directly on the river makes it a favourite with families and couples who want to swim, paddle or launch a kayak or paddleboard straight from their pitch.
Touring caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome, with electric hookup available on touring and caravan pitches, and the site is dog-friendly throughout, a point the owners make a particular feature of. The Balvaig's clean, shallow water close to the site is well suited to family swimming on warm days, and National Cycle Route 7 passes nearby, giving guests a direct, largely traffic-free ride south into Callander or north through Strathyre and along Loch Lubnaig.
The surrounding forest tracks and hill paths give easy access to walks around Loch Lubnaig and into the Balquhidder glens without needing to drive, and Strathyre village itself, a short walk or cycle away, has a shop, a pub and a visitor centre for basic supplies. The site's smaller scale and riverside setting suit visitors after a straightforward, unfussy camping base among genuinely quiet Highland scenery, rather than the facilities-led experience of a larger holiday park.
