About Welsh Hilltop Escape

Leave the kids with the grandparents and escape to this adults-only glamping retreat on the edge of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Ancient trees dot wildflower meadows, while a tranquil pond attracts birds and frogs that serenade you through the day. The views sweep across valleys to distant mountain peaks, and sunsets here are genuinely spectacular.

You can keep things blissfully low-key—firepit evenings, local produce from the on-site vegetable garden sizzling on the barbecue, long lie-ins—or ramp up the adventure with walks in the Brecons, paddleboarding on the River Towy, or a round at one of three nearby golf courses. The market town of Llandeilo sits five minutes away for provisions and dining, while the nearest pub is a pleasant 15-minute stroll.

Facilities include composting toilets (charmingly lit by fairy lights), hot showers, a communal fridge and washing-up area. With recycling and charging points sorted, you can focus on the important business of unwinding.

We had such a lovely stay at The Welsh Farm Glamping back in early March. It was still a little chilly at that time of year, so the heated blankets and woodburner made the yurt feel incredibly cosy and welcoming. One of the biggest highlights for us was being able to properly relax knowing our dog could safely run around the enclosed garden playing ball. The private woodland walk system was also such a thoughtful touch, especially only allowing one dog in at a time. It made the whole experience feel calm and stress-free. We spent hours lounging in the hot tub, making pizzas in the pizza oven and simply enjoying the peace and quiet. Hearing the birdsong in the mornings and seeing the bluebells starting to appear in the woods was genuinely beautiful. Beanz absolutely loved lazing in the yurt wrapped up in the cosy blankets after long walks. It really did feel like somewhere both humans and dogs could properly switch off. We also had a fantastic pizza at (dog-friendly) Grain in Carmarthen during our stay. (You can never have too much Pizza!) Such a peaceful, thoughtful and dog-friendly escape. We’d happily return. 🌿🐾

Incredible. We spent a weekend at the yurt hideaway in the middle of a heat wave. Joe was amazing with setting up fans a dog pool for us. He brought a cover for the pool for my water obsessed spaniel. It was such a relaxing place with the noise of nature and everything you need to chill for a weekend with a pizza oven, BBQ and small kitchen! The garden was super secure, my spaniel has a habit of trying to escape!

We had a lovely stay in the yurt hideaway despite a mixture of rain and sun. It was cozy inside the yurt and nice and secluded. We made pizzas in the oven and by the second attempt we did much better with this. Our sensitive dog enjoyed relaxing without any visitors or noise to upset her. This is the perfect spot for dogs that get overwhelmed easily and for owners wanting a reset.

We stayed here at the last weekend of June with the 35+ degree weather! Even with the weather being absolutely unbearable we had a wonderful time. I have 2 severely reactive collies who are now 5 years old and this is the first holiday I've ever taken them on as I have never been able to find anywhere that I thought looked perfect. I emailed Joe so many times asking so many questions. He was so helpful and answered each and everyone of them. We all loved it so much & felt so calm and relaxed that the dogs were safe. It was so nice to get away from reality and the hustle and bustle of 13 hour shifts in the hospital! My partner & I really reconnected over this holiday, this is something we can sometimes struggle to do and find time for at home. We have already booked again for November to rediscover the colder side of the year where we can use the log burner and camp fire 🔥 Thank you guys so much for making somewhere so perfect for people with dogs like mine ❤️
